The Health Specialist is responsible for oversight and monitoring comprehensive health, oral health, nutrition, and safety services for enrolled children and families in accordance with Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS), state licensing regulations, and agency policies. The Health Specialist works collaboratively with families, staff, community providers, and health professionals to ensure children receive ongoing preventive health care and follow-up treatment while promoting healthy lifestyles and school readiness. This position is responsible for providing training and technical assistance, resources and monitoring of Regional Nursing staff to ensure that HSPPS are met in the provision of services to families.
Conditions of Employment
Luzerne County Head Start, Inc. requires staff to possess current, valid Background Clearances (3) per state/federal regulations. Position will require record check approval of driving record by LCHS Insurance Provider, as this position is considered a designated position requiring driving as an essential job function. Proof of Degree/Certification and Experience Required to meet the Qualifications for position.
