Building Maintenance

The Building Maintenance professional supports the Head Start and Early Head Start programs by ensuring that all facilities are safe, clean, and well-maintained for children, families, and staff. This role is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections, addressing building and equipment needs, and helping create a safe and welcoming environment for program operations.

The position requires practical skills in building systems, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly. By maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and functionality, the Building Maintenance professional plays a key role in supporting the success of Head Start services.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform general building and grounds maintenance (basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical)
• Handle janitorial tasks and restocking supplies
• Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment
• Assist with landscaping, snow removal, and special projects

What You Bring:

• High School Diploma/GED (required)
• Technical Certificate preferred
• Prior maintenance experience a plus
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to pass required clearances

What We Offer:

• Pay: High School Diploma/GED: $15.61 /hour OR High School Diploma/GED with Technical Certificate at a minimum: $17.83 /hour
