Head Start Early Childhood Learning Specialist

Status: Full-time
Schedule: 7.00 Hours/Day (8:00 am-3:00 pm), Monday-Friday 200 Days/Year
Hourly Salary: $40.85


PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Early Childhood Learning Specialist (LS)  role is designed to assist early childhood education staff and families in implementing effective strategies to enhance behavioral, social emotional, and executive functioning skills. The LS will work in partnership with the Head Start support team to deliver a comprehensive, prevention-focused approach to foster the development of these essential skills.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Education Required:     Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Psychology or related field is required. 

Certification Required:  PA Licensure or certification in teaching, psychology or related field.

Experience Required:    A minimum of three years of experience in an early childhood, behavioral health or education setting. Classroom experience preferred. 

Other qualifications:      Strong organizational, communication, computer, and problem-solving skills.
