Huntingdon County Child and Adult Development Corporation, a private, non-profit 501-C program, is located in Huntingdon County, PA, an area rich with opportunities for those who enjoy the beauty of forests, hills and lakes.  We are located southwest of State College and east of Altoona which are both just a short drive away.  HCCADC provides educational opportunities for our County’s youngest residents, childcare for children up to 10 years of age and adult learning programs which assist individuals attain GEDs (or equivalent), provide competencies to help adults transition into the workforce, and offer adult literacy support. The Financial Director has overall responsibility for the fiscal department management and supervision, fiscal administration, financial reporting, and budget preparation and oversight for the Corporation.  We seek a candidate with a passion for serving the community and our families. Through examples shared, candidates will be able to demonstrate how they have impacted positive change within the workplace, along with their ability to problem solve, and work positively within a team setting. 

Qualifications: Candidate must be a certified public accountant or have at a minimum, a baccalaureate degree in accounting, business, fiscal management, or a related field and possess knowledge and skills which ensure proper accounting practices. Experience in a non-profit setting and budget preparation for grants considered a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs duties and operations in accordance with corporation, local, state and federal policies and regulations
  • Exercise direct accountability for budgetary and expenditure control, including the maintenance for all cash receipts, revenues, disbursements, trial balances and financial statements.
  • Supervise the Corporation’s procurement and property management systems including, along with the Executive Director, reviewing, approving/disapproving and authorizing purchasing of supplies/equipment.
  • Supervise the preparation and maintenance of all necessary and required financial records of the Corporations financial operations, as required by the laws and regulations governing the various funding sources/streams.
  • Implement, update and maintain the Corporations accounting systems, including the development and implementation of an accounting structure used in budgeting, and expenditure reporting which satisfies all local, state, and federal funding sources and their respective regulatory requirements.
  • Complete all required reports accurately and promptly, including but not limited to grantor documents.
  • Supervision of bookkeeper.

Work Environment: Office setting on-site, seated for most of the day, some walking, standing, stooping, bending, lifting up to 20 pounds, viewing dual-screens for computer work, occasional overnight travel required
