The Pennsylvania Head Start Association, a non-profit membership organization serving Early Head Start and Head Start program members across Pennsylvania, is seeking a Non Profit Financial Analyst/Accountant to join our team. As a non-profit and a non-partisan association, we serve as a voice for Pennsylvania's most vulnerable children and families.

The ideal candidate is passionate about serving our members in their work of serving families, children and their communities. In this accounting role, the primary responsibilities include ensuring accuracy of board monthly & quarterly financial reports, completing audit schedules and notes, overseeing accounting and ensuring internal controls, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), reviewing, developing, and reengineering financial and other operational policies and procedures, and performing other financial work as needed to help the Association accomplish its mission. 

Candidates should have:
Bachelor degree in accounting or finance.

Proficiency in Excel.

Minimum two years’ relevant experience, 5 years preferred. 

Non Profit Financial Experience.

Experience with one or more accounting software programs.

Exemplary written and oral communication skills.

Commitment to Head Start and its values including diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and justice.

Work location: Remote, home office with occasional travel within Pennsylvania as required.

Job Type: Hourly Consultant

Pay Range: $100 - $150 per hour, commensurate with experience
